A Champion for Workers
His career began in 1999 operating a Bobcat for Kiewit Construction. From his earliest union experiences—being initiated through the Examining Board and regularly attending monthly membership meetings—Nate quickly recognized that any organizing group’s strength relies entirely on member commitment and participation. This community-minded ethos resonated deeply with him; growing up in Plymouth, Connecticut, his parents served on local community boards and volunteered extensively with charities like the Special Olympics. As his expertise in heavy construction grew, so did his dedication to the union, leading him to volunteer for local community initiatives like building the Fantasy of Lights and phone-banking for union-endorsed political candidates.
